2023 Bici Red Blend

Bici came out of Gary and Kit’s cycling trips through Europe and their soft spot for Rhône wines, and this is the bottle that goes with anything and everything. It is 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah — the fruity half and the meaty, peppery half — grown in Mendocino County and the Carneros AVA of Napa Valley. Classic Rhône aromas of plum, blackberry, and cherry, with spice, earth, and dried herbs behind them, then medium-weight tannins through the middle and a lively acidity that keeps every sip going. Hand-harvested in the cool morning hours and aged sixteen months in neutral French oak, so the fruit stays out front. Gyros, eggplant parm, carnitas, coq au vin, a cheese board — it does not much care, and neither should you.
