Meet winemaker Laura Barrett.
Laura doesn’t just love wine. She has a lifelong curiosity and fascination with science and an eye for detail. Her approach to winemaking is inspired by her first harvest in New Zealand; after that experience, she earned a Masters in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis, then went on to hone her skills with some of Napa Valley’s most celebrated winemakers. With a vineyard-first approach and a commitment to organic farming and sustainability, Laura’s intention is to craft elegant, beautifully balanced wines.

Clif Family Estate Vineyards
Clif Family farms 90 acres of organically farmed vineyards in the Howell Mountain and Oak Knoll District AVA’s of the Napa Valley. Our estate vineyards hold CCOF and Napa Green certifications, reflecting our commitment to environmental responsibility.

Croquet Vineyard
On the opposite side of the mountain from Cold Springs is our Croquet Estate Vineyard, located on the northeast side of Howell Mountain. The soil here is Aiken loam, also volcanic in origin, but containing more clay and red-colored soil. This steep vineyard was planted to three acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, clone 337.

Clif Family Farm
Nestled in the hills of Napa Valley, our five-acre organic farm flourishes with vegetable gardens, fruit orchards, and olive trees. Committed to regenerative agriculture, we nurture the soil and protect the climate for a sustainable future. You can enjoy the farm’s bounty at our Bruschetteria Food Truck, in our seasonal wine & food pairings, and through our preserved goods and extra virgin olive oil.

Home Vineyard
Our small estate vineyard on the Home Farm is planted to Zinfandel, one of Gary’s favorite grapes. The Home Farm is located on the northeast side of Howell Mountain where warm summer temperatures create ideal growing conditions. We harvested our first grapes from this vineyard for our 2015 Estate Zinfandel bottling.

Cold Springs Estate
The Cold Springs Estate Vineyard sits on the south side of Howell Mountain where the soil is made up of decomposed volcanic ash, which is gray and white in color and well-drained. The vineyard was planted in 2001 to five acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, clones 337, 4 and 7, a blend that provides both opulence and structure to our Cold Springs Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasting Room
The Clif Family Tasting Room, located in downtown St. Helena, is the perfect spot to spend an afternoon enjoying one of our unique tasting experiences or relaxing on our patio with a bite from our food truck, the Clif Family Bruschetteria.

Enoteca
Located just beyond our bustling Main Street tasting room, the Clif Family Enoteca offers a secluded retreat for a personalized wine and food tasting experience. Here, you can unwind and savor breathtaking views of Napa Valley’s vineyards while enjoying tastings that highlight our estate wines from our Howell Mountain and Valle di Sotto vineyards.

Oak Knoll Vineyard
The Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley is known for its diverse planting of grape varietals. Located at the southern end of the Napa Valley, this AVA has an extended growing season and is a great site for cooler varietals such as Chardonnay, while also producing high quality Bordeaux varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon. Our new, CCOF certified 80 acre vineyard sits on the valley floor in the heart of the Oak Knoll District and was planted in 2018.
