Rooted in Adventure — Since the Beginning
Clif Family’s story began on a bike.
Gary was pedaling through a long, challenging 175-mile ride when he dreamed up an energy bar that actually tasted like real food. He and Kit turned that spark into Clif Bar, and later Clif Family Winery & Farm—built on the same spirit of curiosity, discovery, and trying new things.
Every milestone was born from an adventure. From the bike rides that sparked the first Clif Bar, to the kitchen experiments that inspired our farm and specialty foods, to the travels that shaped our wines and love of local food, culture, adventure has always led the way.
