Napa Local’s Guide to BottleRock: Inside Scoop for the Ultimate Festival Weekend

Are you headed to BottleRock Napa Valley for the first time? Or perhaps you’ve been before but want to "game out" the weekend for a smoother, more premium experience?

As a local Napa Valley winery with our very own Wine Cabana at the festival, the Clif Family Winery & Farm team has seen it all. We’ve rounded up our best insider tips to help you navigate the music, the food, and the logistics like a seasoned local.

The Music: Beyond the Main Stage

While the headliners draw the massive crowds, some of the most magical moments happen in the intimate corners of the Napa Valley Expo.

  • The JaM Pad: Don’t miss the acoustic pop-up performances. These sets aren't always on the main schedule, offering a rare, close-up look at your favorite artists.
  • The Silent Disco: When you need a break from the main stage roar, slip on some headphones for a private dance party.
  • Discover New Artists: Get a head start on the weekend by downloading the Clif Family BottleRock Playlist. Discover the upcoming artists we’re most excited to see this year along with some blasts from Bottlerock past!

The Food: A Culinary Headliner

Williams Sonoma Culinary Stage

Watch celebrity chefs pair up with rockstars for live demos. It’s one of the best ways to see artists up close without fighting a 40,000-person crowd.

Eat Like a Local

Skip the generic stands and seek out our favorite local vendors. We highly recommend Charlie’s, Market, and Stateline Road Smokehouse for an authentic taste of the valley.

What to Wear: The "Napa Layer"

Anything goes at BottleRock, but the weather is a wild card. Temperatures can swing 30 degrees from afternoon sun to evening breeze.

  • The Essentials: Sunscreen and hats are non-negotiable for the day.
  • The Pro Move: Bring a sweatshirt or light jacket for the evening.
  • Merch Tip: If you want official BottleRock swag, shop on Friday. The best sizes and designs sell out fast!

Logistics: Beating the "BottleRock Neck"

Traffic leaving the venue at 10:00 PM is a notorious bottleneck. Here is how to avoid the stress:

  • Walk a Little Further: Park west of the Napa River. Walking ten minutes away from the venue to your car will save you an hour of sitting in gridlock.
  • Skip the Rideshare: Ubers and Lyfts are incredibly hard to find (and expensive) during the fest.
  • The Free Option: Use Vine Transit. They offer free bus rides all weekend long, making it the smartest way to get in and out of downtown thoughout the valley.

After Hours & Local Hangouts

The party doesn't end when the music stops at the Expo.

  • BottleRock After Hours: Check for ticketed performances at venues throughout downtown Napa. You never know when a headliner might do a surprise pop-up show!
  • The Best Local Stops: Need a breather from the festival grounds? Head to Oxbow Public Market for a bite at Gott’s Roadside or the ever-popular Taqueria Maria right across the street.

The Beverages: Sips & Carafes

From artisanal coffee to craft mocktails, BottleRock has it all—but the wine is the star.

  • Best Value: When ordering wine, ask for a carafe. It’s the best value for your purchase and perfect for sharing with friends.
  • Visit Clif Family: We’ll be pouring our organically farmed wines all weekend. Our Rosé of Grenache and Sauvignon Blanc are the ultimate festival refreshers.
  • Find Us: Swing by the Clif Family Winery Cabana, and we’ll point you toward our wine bar. We’re also happy to give recommendations on our other favorite local wines being poured nearby!
