Falling for Cabernet Sauvignon

Your Fall 2025 Cima Shipment features two of our members' most popular wines. These are perfect for a special celebration -- or for no reason at all. With October ushering in cooler temperatures and a transition to heartier meals, both the 2022 Croquet Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2022 Cima Cabernet Sauvignon are excellent selections. We recommend decanting them to let the wines breathe, which will soften the tannins and allow their rich fruit flavors to shine.

The 2022 vintage from Howell Mountain produced concentrated, structured and opulent Cabernet Sauvignon with excellent aging potential. Winemaker, Laura Barrett, crafted two beautiful wines that we can't wait to share with you.

2022 Croquet Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain

This wine has a sophisticated bouquet with notes of ripe plum, graphite and chocolate. The palate exhibits the more rustic tannins expected from Croquet Vineyard. The entry leads directly into big, age-worthy tannins and the mid-palate is full of structure and texture. This wine has great length and finishes with lingering tart cherry flavors.

2022 Cima Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain

This wine has classic Napa Cabernet aromatics of bright, ripe fruit, including savory blackberry pie, black cherry and perfectly integrated French oak. The entry is soft and elegant with rich, chewy tannings in the mid-palate and a lot of spice character, such as cedar, cinnamon and clove. The tannins are big and present but not overwhelming and the wine finishes with great balance and length.

Sip with: Grilled NY Strip with Rosemary Pesto
